How the match uses your rank list

CaRMS: how the algorithm works ↗

Rank in your true order of preference.The algorithm tries your first choice first. Where you put a program on your list doesn’t change where that program ranks you.
Rank every program you’d be willing to attend, and none you wouldn’t.The result is binding. In CaRMS’s worked example, both unmatched applicants ranked too few programs.
Multi-site programs: each site is ranked separately.On this site, each site already has its own row.
Couples can rank pairs of programs.Both partners submit the same number of ranks.
